One of my photos was referenced in a comment to a blog post by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg about the most memorable atmosphere’s in the 2011 college football season.  While no Hawkeye games were mentioned this year, one fan believed the Iowa-Northwestern game played at Kinnick Stadium was worthy of mention and referenced my photo of the pre-game card stunt.  Being there myself, I can say the atmosphere was incredible.  Night games at Kinnick are special.  The fans pulled off 2 card stunts this evening.  One being patriotic during the conclusion of the National Anthem.  The second commemorating Iowa’s farmers – America Needs Farmers – originally sponsored by legendary coach Hayden Fry.  For the remainder of the game, the fans were decked out in alternating black and gold game day apparel, creating a magnificent stripe-out of Kinnick Stadium.
