Ephraim Bales Place

The cabin in the background and the hog pen in the foreground are 2 main structures that make up the "Ephraim Bales Place" homestead inside of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This acreage is located on the Roaring Fork Motor Trail. The trail is a must-do for first time visitors to the Smokies.

Maybe as a baseball player, I couldn't hit the backside of a barn. But, I can sure take a picture of one.
This acreage was built in the late 1800′s and is well preserved to get a feel for what it must’ve been like to live in that era. There are a few other acreage sites similar to this along the Motor Trail in GSMNP.
