The Common Grackle
These aren’t necessarily the best birds in the neighborhood, but they do have a very attractive contrasting color scheme – blue on black. I captured this shot while walking back form the Amana Lily Lake in Amana, Iowa. I managed to get him flying away, too, although the colors against the overcast sky did me no favors.
