Hope for the Harvest

I took this shot last weekend near Strawberry Point, Iowa. Obviously, it’s a cornfield nearly ready for harvest. What you may not know from looking at this shot is there doesn’t appear to be many stalks of corn on those plants. With the serious drought conditions we’ve experienced this year, our farmers need your prayers. We need our farmers, and they need your prayers.
You plant your fields, when the Spring is tender
When the Summer beats down, you pray for rain,
You hope for the harvest, and the long, cold winter
And then you plant your fields again.

I love knowing there is such a place as “Strawberry Point, Iowa”
Complete with a giant strawberry on the town square!
Great picture…and great reminder about the story behind the picture. Tough year for lots of farmers and ranchers.
