I took this shot near the town of Elkader, Iowa located approximately 70 miles north of Cedar Rapids just off of Highway 13.

I did not have many good opportunities to photograph these guys.  They are fast, and rarely landed anywhere near me.  I snapped this shot with the camera handheld.  With my luck, getting the tripod and setting it up would've been a waste of time.

This Blue Heron really didn't want his picture taken very badly.  I chased him up and down the Turkey River for about 15 minutes.  I finally got a dent shot of him in flight against the early autumn foliage.

Intruder Alert

The sunset and a massive cumulus cloud teamed up to produce this colorful sky.  I have not done any editing to this shot.  The colors in the cloud is the result of the sun setting and shining on it.
