A Family-oriented Spring Break – Day 7: Indianapolis

The final leg of our Spring Break wrapped up in Indianapolis.  Until now, I haven’t been to Indy for about 10 years.  Indy has transformed into quite a city in that time span.  Downtown is a hub of entertainment, anchored by Lucas Oil stadium on one end and the White River State Park and river walk on another.  At the center is the Capitol building with a fabulous shopping mall sitting adjacent to it.  White River State Park is fantastic.  It includes the Indy Zoo and the NCAA Hall of Champions among other attractions.

I took in the zoo for a few hours while the rest of the family shopped.  You get to the zoo by walking across the White River as shown above. The zoo is compact but growing, yet still has a lot to offer.  I got up close and personal with many common zoo species.

Here is my favorite shot of the day.  More to come soon.
