A Tour of the Tennessee State Capitol

A view I shot from the SE corner of the Tennessee State Capitol grounds. Click for a full view.

While in Nashville for Spring Break, I decided to take in the Capitol building while the rest of the fam was “straightening their hair”.  Besides that, it was right across the street from the hotel and, obviously, the weather was beautiful.  Tennessee has a proud proud heritage.  On the grounds you can see many statues of guys like Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, and James Polk.  Yeah, they were US Presidents who served in a time long, long ago.  There are lots of interesting things you can see inside and outside the Capitol grounds.  Here are a few samples.  Check it out – it’s free!

My camera did this no justice. I think I read that this actual chandelier used to be kerosene.
Hmmmm. I wonder what is going on in here?
I was hoping to catch a game of solitaire or Words With Friends. but, no such luck. Kidding, kidding. Seriously, watching your country operate is a pretty humbling experience. Click for a large view.
