This past January I had the pleasure of being in Tampa for coverage of The Outback Bowl. While there, I spent a few afternoons walking the shoreline, daydreaming, and awaiting the sunsets on Clearwater Beach and St. Petersburg Beach.
St. Pete’s Beach is much quieter than Clearwater. However, Clearwater has the magnificent Pier that allows for a great sunset backdrop. So, as the sun was setting I took the opportunity to watch and photograph the sandpipers and giant egrets darting away from the crashing waves, lurking for their waterborne prey.
I love the colors that the late afternoon sun casts on the sand and water. The sandpipers were so fast moving ahead of the approaching water and so I decided to slow the shutter speed down to capture the constant motion.
