This foliage is quite plentiful in Iowa.  In the summer, the fuzzy stems are like silver that reflects the bright sunshine.  In fall, this plant turns white providing a contrast to the reds, browns, and golds of the Iowa roadsides.  If anyone knows what this plant is, please leave a comment. Elkader Keystone Bridge

Here is a nice 10×20 I shot of the Keystone Bridge that spans the Turkey River in Elkader, Iowa. The bridge is the longest Keystone bridge west of the Mississippi River. It was built in 9 months in the 1880s.

Great Blue Heron of Elkader

We took a nice early autumn drive to the small town of Elkader, Iowa this afternoon.  The reason for the drive was to shoot the longest Keystone Bridge west of the Mississippi River.  The bridge spans the Turkey River.  This Great Blue Heron decided to change my shooting plans just a bit.
